I noticed that the three new AGOT oufits (- pyjamas) (Sightseeing, Cherry chocolate cheetah, Gala) are ALL $26! and the new Felicity and Elizabeth outfits are around $28 what happened to the $24/$22 outifs?
I love all the new outfits...but they seem kinda exspensive to me (even though its just a $2 difference!)

does anybody else feel like this or i am just making a pointless post?!

No, Saffy'sAngel Gal* your post is not pointless. I too noticed this increase. A few dollars though small, do add up. I can remember when outfits were $20.

When I was at AGPC last month, I bought 3 or so outfits. I did not even realize that I had paid $28 for The African Dance Outfit . I love it though, it is well made;top notch quality. I really like the On-the-Go Outfit too, but $34 hmm...hmmm...hmmm . Some of the clothes that were originally priced in this range did not have thier prices increased. I just bite the bullet, get what I want, and keep going

The only thing I can think of is the raise in prices, is they seem to be coming with more accessories then the ones before. I know a lot of the historicals, such as Samantha, the clothes would be cheaper, but they wouldn't come with the matching shoes (that was separate). I think these outfits are more complete. I could be wrong!

$2 isn't much if you're only ordering one thing, but if you order 5 or 6 outfits each at $2 increase, you could easily be paying more for shipping.

I understand that evrything is rising in price, and AG hasn't in as long as I've been collecting (10 years), they had to at some point. But, $28 bucks is SO MUCH more than $20. I mean, really, and most of the Felicity/Elizabeth dresses, no. I'd buy more if they were 20-22, dead serious. Most of them aren't worth nearly 30 bucks for ONE OUTFIT. It's hard to say any of these outfits are worth 30, except the AGT ones, because they normally come with so much.

The reason the new modern historical dance outfits cost more is because they came with more stuff. *rolls eyes*. I wish the little things that came with the modern historical outfits were seperate, and purchasable for 8 bucks, and the outfits itself was 22. I want Nellie's so bad, but $28, and I get some ugly, stupid headband thing that I will never do ANYTHING with (unless we end up going to Riverdance this year, I'd so wear that thing). The Necklace and Anklet with Kaya and Addy's outfits are much less "weird," one could wear those in public, and no one would be like "...what the heck is that?!" I wish Nellie's had come with a gold toned necklace with a claddah (sp!!) charm on it, that would be sooo cute. But then, her Irish Cross necklace would have to come off, and I havent taken it off since I got her.

I don't know, I just think the prices turn me off to a number of outfits.

I really want the On the Go outfit and I keep putting it in my shopping cart and taking it back out again. The $34 is still making me hesitate even though it has so many pieces and is versatile.

The new prices also had me wondering what to expect come the holiday season after the "code" from last year. I am hoping we get another one, but part of me is saying don't hold your breath.

Anytime I purchase a doll outfit I get a twinge of realization that for the money I could actually buy myself a decent top or pants or something. My dolls definitely have a better wardrobe than me! A $2 increase per outfit seems like a lot to me, particularly since the clothing is so overpriced anyway ... not that it makes a difference though, I'll still buy.

I went over the new price list-and you know what puzzles me greatly?

The new pj's-the paisley ones are less then the star pajames. The paisley is 20 while the star pj's are priced at 22. And the paisley set comes with more things-it is included with a sleep mask!

To bad I like the star pj's!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Lol, I had the same realization not too long ago. Every time I get Sam and Nellie get a new outfit, that's one new piece of clothing that I'm not getting for myself. But I just can't resist. I love having new clothes for my girls!

I too wish that Nellie and Addy's dance outfits had come with necklaces. I will never, ever wear that headband out in public, I just know it. And I probably wouldn't end up wearing Addy's anklet either - too bulky for my taste. But I would certainly get a lot of use out of Kaya's choker. It's beautiful, and would work especially well with all the bohemian clothes out this season. Plus it'd be a great way to meet other AG fans - they'd recognize the Kaya choker in an instant!

Edited to add that, with my recent discovery of the wonder known as The Code, I doubt I will ever order anything sans Code again. Well, ok, except Sam and Nellie's holiday coats, which I missed out on last year due to the whole "seasonal item" disaster. BUT, besides that, I think Code buying will really be the way to go, especially with the new price hikes.

I'd like to justify the price hike with the inclusion of shoes, but the shoes that come with outfits are just not the same quality as those that come separately.

I would pay the full $8 for high quality shoes/boots such as Josefina's riding boots, Kit's work boots, or Kirsten's red boots. However, I would NOT pay that amount of money for little slippers- such as Josefina's Christmas or birthday slippers. They just don't entail the kind of workmanship that the others do.

Like others, I am frustrated by the price hikes but will continue to pay because I do want the items. I do admit that I spend more on doll clothes than myself. I'm starting the semester with two pairs of pants because I'd rather collect than buy clothing.

I know inflation happens, but it still hurts. An extra 2-3 dollars certainly does add up, especially with the shipping levels.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I totally agree here. Kit's got some cute shoes with her School Outfit. And it's still pretty cheap. Deffinitly going to get that outfit when I get Kit.

But, you're so right about the shoes. I love the "extra" shoes, and they're totally worth the $8. I have every pair of shoes made for Sam, and they're all sooo cute, and totally worth the extra money. Some of these outfits, you really NEED the shoes, I cant imagine her tea or birthday dress with the black mary janes she comes in, those two dressed NEED the white and pink ones. Josefina's Riding Boots are deffinitly my favorite pair of historical shoes. They look SO perfect with her Riding Outfit, yet they're cute all around, and could easily be worn with a bunch of modern stuff, to give them a vintage flair, lol.

The thing with the shoes that come with the outfit is they match THAT outfit, and pretty much that outfit alone. Looking at the new Felicity/Elizabeth stuff again, Lissie appears to have on some neon pink slippers with the Tea Dress, they look quite ugly, but are probably cute in person. I can't see how those would look good with anything else Felicity has (maybe with Elizabeth's meet dress? ) And Elizabeth's Tea Dress comes with some little pink shoes, too.

I happen to like the little flats. Flats are about all I wear, myself, so it's cute to see the dolls have similar shoes, but I would like to see them go the extra mile with the shoes.

I also agree with Nancy, the AG clothes are overpriced to begin with. Not that they're not adorable, and much better quality than most things out there, but, for the price of 4 outfits, you could get another doll! Samantha has 16 outfits, each at about $24. If you had all of them, the price you paid could have bought you 4 brand new dolls. That seems insane! Actually, the fact that Samantha has 16 outfits seems insane, lol, especially considering Kit has 9 and Josefina has 8.

I went over the new price list-and you know what puzzles me greatly?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">LMAO! The Star Pajamas are the ones I like, too, I think the paisley ones are quite ugly. I think the sleep mask is pretty ugly, and the whole idea of that for a doll is so bizare to me, perhaps if they didn't have sleep eyes, it would bea cutesy way of "closing their eyes" so they could "go to sleep," but as they close on their own, it seems a very weird thing to include. Do little girls even use these? The Slippers with the Star PJs are MUCH cuter than the other ones, these are fuzzy slippers, cyuuute!

Honestly, like everyone else, this price increase isn't going to stop me from buying outfits I want, but it is going to make it take me longer to get them all. I still haven't gotten the outfits from the Summer I wanted (Tennis, Horse Love, Molly's bathing suit, and Nellie's Irish Step) and most of those will probably be pushed back and back, and I wont end up with any of them (except the Tennis) until maybe Christmas, and probably not even then. But, new stuff just keeps coming out, and I get what I like most, and of course "new" stuff is always better than the stuff of 2 months ago, lol.

ksami, does Nellie's headband thingy fit around your head? I was thinking I would deffinitly wear it around the house (I'm a dork), but I don't know if it would even fit, not that I have a big head, but compared to an 8 year old, I suppose I do, lol.
